Leg 6 - Grimsby to Bridlington

After a relaxing day in Grimsby, it was time to move on. The hop to Bridlington should have been fairly quick, but both Grimsby and Bridlington are tidal so you can only get in or out near the high tide. So it was always going to take about 12 hours regardless of the distance and conditions.

I didn't expect to reach the point where I had difficulty understanding the locals quite so soon. I had some really interesting conversations with the harbourmaster at Bridlington, almost reverting to sign language at one stage. With Tyneside and East Scotland to come, I fear things will only get worse.

Bridlington is a lovely little town, and the harbour has been recently done up to welcome visiting yachtsmen. I had a wonderful meal in the restaurant overlooking the harbour, watching the sun going down over the boats.
