The shower block

Force of work has put a slight hold on the sailing, so I've laid up in Blyth for a couple of days. I have to say that the people here are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the facilities are marvellous if a little unconventional. The shower block and clubhouse are on an old lightship where everywhere on board is either uphill or downhill. It's all run by volunteers from the local Yacht Club, so the hospitality is impeccable.

The town is quite a distance away and there are no shops locally, so my little folding bike has come in very useful. Maybe it's thanks to people like Ross Noble and Sarah Millican, but I seem to have no problem understanding the local accent.
