Port Ellen to Ballycastle

So it's goodbye to Scotland and hello to Northern Ireland. After a short overnight stop at Port Ellen, I've taken advantage of the calmer conditions to make the crossing to Ballycastle. The morning started fine but by noon the rain began and the visibility dropped to about half a mile. Very disconcerting when you're approaching a rocky coastline and can't see it till you're almost on it! Without the radar and GPS plotter I would be completely lost, especially with the strong and unpredictable currents that flow around the top of Ireland.

Tomorrow the forecast is for a fine day so I plan to go and see the Giant's Causeway and some other places.
