Aberystwyth to Fishguard

Another scorching start to the day, I worked my way down Cardigan Bay towards Fishguard. On the way, I had to avoid live firing and military exercises off Aberporth but fortunately they missed me. As I was passing Aberporth, I could see the barometer plummeting and the wind started to pick up. From almost a flat calm, within minutes I was reefing in the sails and donning the wet weather gear. I was glad of the shelter of Fishguard harbour and dropped anchor in the bay close in to the town.

Moorings aren't just for boats
It was a restless night as a thunderstorm passed through. I lay there thinking that a big metal mast would make a perfect lightning conductor and wondering what the effect of a strike would be. However, I escaped with nothing worse than a fairly sleepless night.
