After spending a day with my family in Burry Port and Llanelli, I headed on around the glorious Gower Peninsular to Swansea. It was another day of timing the journey to coincide with the tides as the entry to Swansea was closed around low tide. The tidal ranges in the Bristol Channel are among the greatest anywhere in the world, especially around spring tides.

Entry through the Tawe lock to Swansea marina was rather hectic. There were about a dozen boats all trying to get into the lock at the same time, and there were some raised voices when two boats collided with a crunch. I don't think any great damage was done, but I think I learnt a few new Welsh words that day.
